Technical Advisor – Bakery & Pastry

About the role

Puratos is looking for a Technical Advisor specialized in bakery, pastry and chocolate to support customers in Jamaica. The role combines product expertise, on‑site training and technical demonstrations to help clients improve yields, product quality and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on product applications, costing, yields and decoration for bakery, pastry and chocolate.
• Respond to customer inquiries, complaints and requests for new product ideas.
• Design and deliver training courses and presentations at customer sites or innovation centres.
• Conduct product trials for the R&D department and support commercial training requests.
• Prepare work plans, technical reports and document unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Technical qualification in Food Technology, Bakery, Pastry or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar technical or advisory role.
• Hospitality experience, preferably as a pastry technician.
• Good command of English; Spanish is a plus.

Required skills

• User‑level proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to create and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Knowledge of bakery, pastry and chocolate preparation techniques.
• Understanding of machinery operation and safe handling procedures.
• Familiarity with food technology principles and health legislation.
