Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our Finance & Corporate Governance team in Jamaica. The role involves preparing accurate financial information, supporting regulatory reporting, budgeting, audit coordination and overseeing daily accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analyses and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain the accounting software and general ledger, review and approve journal entries, ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and support the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Coordinate quarterly and annual statutory returns, liaise with regulators, auditors and tax authorities.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process, monitor budget execution and provide financial analysis for decision‑making.
• Lead year‑end audit activities, maintain financial controls and ensure proper documentation for audit and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the Fixed Asset Register, manage asset capitalization, depreciation and disposals.
• Support the Finance Manager in day‑to‑day departmental coordination and process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Highly motivated and detail‑oriented professional.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience in financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Good knowledge of IFRS and statutory compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
