Accounting Clerk

About the role

The Accounting Clerk is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Kingston, supporting the finance and accounting functions of Pinnacle Insurance Brokers Jamaica Limited. You will record financial transactions, maintain ledgers and assist with both accounts payable and receivable processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and update the accounting software.
• Maintain accurate ledgers and reconcile bank and account statements.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice preparation and payment tracking.
• Prepare basic financial reports and support the preparation of financial statements.
• File and organize financial documents and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to support accurate reporting.

Required profile

• Proficiency in accounting software and ability to learn new systems.
• Strong bookkeeping skills with attention to detail.
• Foundational knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
• Certificate, diploma or associate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (preferred).
• Strong numerical aptitude, accuracy and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Prior experience in an accounting or finance support role, preferably in financial services or insurance.
