Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager will lead The Special Events Group’s day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while safeguarding company assets through robust cash‑flow management and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure all transactions are properly supported.
• Review and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and petty‑cash subledgers.
• Monitor ageing reports, collection performance and payment obligations, escalating overdue or disputed balances.
• Maintain a fixed‑asset register and oversee annual budgets, variance analysis, and daily cash‑flow reporting.
• Coordinate cash counts, investigate material variances, and provide cost‑reduction and revenue‑enhancement recommendations.
• Prepare and file GCT returns, company income‑tax returns, and payroll‑related statutory filings.
• Liaise with external auditors, supplying required documentation and audit schedules.
• Oversee supplier payments, bank transfers and other disbursement processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading an accounting team and managing full‑cycle accounting functions.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, tax filings and payroll regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial performance and support strategic decision‑making.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
