AI Lab Engineer

About the role

The AI Lab Engineer will design, build, and operationalize AI and agentic solutions for the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence. Reporting to the AI Lab and Deployment Lead, you will turn prioritized business use cases into secure, scalable, production‑ready services that integrate with the JN Group’s enterprise platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and iterate AI and agentic solutions that address business needs.
• Write clean, scalable, production‑grade code and reusable components for the lab’s shared toolkit.
• Prototype rapidly, conduct structured experiments, and transform successful prototypes into robust enterprise solutions.
• Implement autonomous multi‑agent workflows using modern LLM and agent frameworks, including tool usage and human‑in‑the‑loop controls.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines with data ingestion, chunking, embeddings, and vector search.
• Develop evaluation frameworks, test datasets, and guardrails to monitor model behaviour.
• Package, deploy, and monitor AI services, integrating them with enterprise APIs and systems.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerised workloads, and MLOps tooling for repeatable releases.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and observability to track performance, cost, latency, and model drift.
• Ensure compliance with AI governance, security, data‑privacy, and risk‑management standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AI/ML solution development and deployment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a continuous‑learning mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with large language model (LLM) frameworks and agentic AI.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Proficiency in MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Understanding of AI governance, security, and data‑privacy requirements.
