Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance team by reconciling balance‑sheet accounts, preparing journal entries, and assisting with the company’s tax portfolio. This role ensures timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Review coding of journal entries and tax payable documents for completeness and compliance.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, send reports to aviation terminals, and record tax calculations (GCT, Withholding Tax, Property Tax, CIT, DIT) in the ERP system.
• Assist with filing and payment of annual tax returns and estimated income tax.
• Maintain compliance matters, support TCC renewal, and prepare account reconciliations and non‑trade reports.
• Prepare debit and credit memos for AR transactions and provide accounting assistance to the Finance team and external auditors.
• Resolve discrepancies on assigned accounts, support month‑end close, and contribute to special projects.
• Record work‑related incidents and comply with HSE metrics.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a foundation level qualification such as ACCA, CGA, or AAT with 3 years of experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for journal entry processing and tax recording.
