Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Jamaica. The role supports month‑end close, tax compliance and daily accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review coding of journal entries and tax‑payable documents for completeness and compliance.
• Prepare and submit monthly journal entries and related reports to aviation terminals.
• Assist with GCT, Withholding Tax, Property Tax, CIT and DIT calculations and record the corresponding journal entries in ERP systems.
• Support the timely filing and payment of annual tax returns and estimated income tax.
• Ensure compliance matters are addressed and assist with TCC renewal when required.
• Prepare account reconciliations, non‑trade reports, and debit/credit memos for AR transactions.
• Provide accounting assistance to the finance team, external auditors, and resolve discrepancies on assigned accounts.
• Assist the accountant with month‑end close, special projects, and HSE incident recording.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR
• Foundation level of a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CGA, AAT) with at least 3 years of experience.
