Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring tax compliance, and assisting with month‑end close activities for Sol Jamaica SRL.

Key responsibilities

• Review coding of journal entries and tax‑payable documents for completeness and compliance.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries and send related reports to aviation terminals.
• Assist with GCT, Withholding Tax, Property Tax, CIT and DIT calculations and record the corresponding entries in the ERP system.
• Support the timely filing and payment of annual tax returns and estimated income tax.
• Prepare account reconciliations, non‑trade reports, and debit/credit memos for AR transactions.
• Provide accounting assistance to the Finance team and external auditors, and help resolve discrepancies.
• Assist the Accountant with month‑end close, special projects, and HSE incident recording.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR a foundation level qualification such as ACCA, CGA, or AAT with 3 years of experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for journal entry posting and tax recording.
