Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance team by reconciling balance‑sheet accounts, preparing journal entries and assisting with the company’s tax portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Review coding of journal entries and tax payable documents for completeness.
• Ensure documents are approved in line with the Manual of Authorities and company policies and entered timely.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and distribute relevant reports to aviation terminals.
• Assist with preparation of GCT, Withholding Tax and Property Tax calculations and record GCT payable in the ERP system.
• Support monthly CIT and DIT calculations and record the associated journal entries.
• Facilitate timely filing and payment of annual tax returns and estimated income tax.
• Prepare account reconciliations and monthly non‑trade reports as assigned.
• Generate debit and credit memos for accounts receivable transactions.
• Provide accounting assistance to the finance team and external auditors as required.
• Help resolve discrepancies on assigned accounts and support month‑end close activities.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting with at least three years of relevant experience.
• Foundation level qualification from a recognized accounting body (e.g., ACCA, CGA, AAT) with three years of experience.
