Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance team by reconciling balance‑sheet accounts, preparing journal entries and assisting with the company’s tax portfolio. This role ensures timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review coding of all journal entries and tax payable documents for completeness and compliance.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and send relevant reports to aviation terminals.
• Assist with GCT, Withholding Tax, Property Tax calculations and record GCT payable in ERP systems.
• Prepare monthly CIT & DIT calculations and record the related journal entries.
• Support the timely filing and payment of annual tax returns and estimated income tax.
• Ensure compliance matters are addressed and assist with TCC renewal when required.
• Prepare account reconciliations and monthly non‑trade reports.
• Generate debit and credit memos for AR transactions.
• Provide accounting assistance to the Finance team and external auditors.
• Help resolve discrepancies on assigned accounts and assist with month‑end close.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting with at least 3 years’ experience, or a foundation level accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CGA, AAT) with 3 years’ experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately with financial data and meet reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Ability to perform tax calculations (GCT, CIT, DIT, Property Tax).
