Associate Accountant

About the role

The Associate Accountant will work closely with the Manager of Financial Accounting and the Local Finance Business Unit teams to ensure accurate month‑end reporting and compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls. This position supports the finance function across Jamaica business units, helping to maintain reliable financial records and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for all Jamaica business units during the month‑end cycle.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Analyze financial information and perform general‑ledger and other reconciliations.
• Follow up with stakeholders to resolve outstanding items.
• Participate in quarterly and annual stock counts.
• Support external and internal audit activities for group and statutory reporting.
• Maintain and improve SOX controls over assigned areas.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with implementation.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to other finance areas as needed.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP (preferred).
