Associate Accountant

About the role

The Associate Accountant supports the Manager of Financial Accounting and the Local Finance Business Unit in maintaining Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Manager, Financial Accounting in completing journal entries across all Jamaica business units during month‑end reporting.
• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Analyze financial information and perform general‑ledger and other reconciliations.
• Follow up and resolve outstanding items with key stakeholders.
• Participate in quarterly and annual stock counts.
• Support external and internal audits for group and statutory reporting.
• Maintain and improve internal SOX controls over assigned areas.
• Identify process improvements and assist with implementation.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to other finance functions as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls and financial reporting processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
