Chief Accounting Officer

About the role

The Chief Accounting Officer will lead the accounting function of a growing international company, based in St. Thomas. Reporting to senior leadership, the CAO ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance and provides strategic insights to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and listing requirements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.
• Supervise accounting staff and maintain robust internal controls.
• Coordinate external audits and optimise accounting systems and processes.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain and commercial teams to align financial outcomes with business objectives.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Minimum three years’ experience as a senior accountant.
• First degree in Accounting or Management.
• Successful completion of ACCA Level 2 or higher.
