Database Manager

About the role

The International Seabed Authority (ISA) seeks a Database Manager to lead the design, governance, administration and continuous improvement of its enterprise data ecosystem. Based in the Office of Stewardship, Environment and Resources (OSER) in Kingston, Jamaica, the role supports scientific, environmental, geological and operational data management for evidence‑based decision‑making and international collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update databases, data collection systems and analysis tools to optimise statistical efficiency, data accessibility and information quality.
• Ensure integrity, availability, reliability, security and optimal performance of the ISA’s DeepData database, legacy systems and associated data repositories.
• Manage and maintain ISA’s technology and virtual infrastructure, including servers, storage, network components, backup systems and platforms supporting data‑management functions.
• Plan, configure, monitor, maintain and optimise virtual machines, virtual networks, storage resources and supporting infrastructure to ensure availability and scalability.

Required profile

• Reports to the Director of OSER and the Senior Policy Officer‑Mineral Resources and Economic Development.
