Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the finance function for our regional portfolio of luxury all‑inclusive Caribbean resorts. Reporting to the regional executive team, you will oversee accounting, finance, procurement, inventory, cost control, compliance and risk management while ensuring collaboration with corporate, legal, audit and government bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop the finance team through performance planning, training, coaching and appraisals.
• Identify training needs for audit staff and ensure delivery of high‑quality work.
• Design and implement more efficient management reporting methods while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Oversee medium‑ to high‑risk activities such as taxes, internal and external audits, licences, permits, certifications, insurance, pensions, medical benefits and guest liabilities to ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive accounting framework that safeguards against fraud, focusing on income audit, cost control, payroll and accounts payable.
• Establish and enforce financial and operational controls across revenue‑generating and cost‑control functions to protect revenue and minimise losses.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in accounting, business, hospitality or a related field.
• Active membership of a recognised professional accountancy body (e.g., ACCA, IIA).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good understanding of company policies, accounting principles and financial/banking regulations.
• Clean police record required.
