General Accounting Team Lead

About the role

The General Accounting Team Lead will oversee the delivery of back‑office accounting services for KPMG United States through the Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS) centre. Working closely with client stakeholders, the lead ensures accurate general ledger maintenance, journal entry processing, and financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain balance‑sheet related general ledger accounts and conduct daily research for journal entries.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including reclassifications and reversals, with appropriate documentation.
• Perform account reconciliations, fixed‑asset maintenance, and quality‑assurance reviews of team outputs.
• Prioritize work assignments to meet client deadlines and update procedures as needed.
• Train and develop team members, and act as the first escalation point for client issues.
• Communicate policy and procedural changes from the client and local management.

Required profile

• Experience in general ledger accounting and journal entry processing.
• Ability to conduct account analysis, reconciliations, and fixed‑asset maintenance.
• Strong judgment to apply client policies and resolve moderate to complex accounting issues.
