General Operations Consultant

About the role

The IDB Group is seeking a dynamic General Operations Consultant to support the preparation, implementation, monitoring and closure of IDB‑financed operations in Jamaica. You will work within the Operations Unit of the CCD Department, coordinating with government counterparts and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant delivery of the Country Office’s operational portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor assigned operations, tracking milestones, deliverables, disbursements, procurement activities and implementation progress, and flag any delays or issues.
• Maintain accurate operational records, trackers, databases and dashboards to support portfolio monitoring and reporting.
• Coordinate with government counterparts, executing agencies, consultants and internal Bank teams to facilitate timely implementation of operational activities.
• Organise missions, meetings, workshops, training activities and other operational events.
• Provide support for procurement and contract administration, including tracking processes, deliverables, payments, extensions and contract deadlines.
• Prepare reports, presentations, briefing notes and other material required to support the Chief of Operations.
• Document lessons learned, good practices and operational information, maintaining relevant repositories.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and efficiency, and follow up on outstanding actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, Finance, International Development, Procurement / Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in a similar capacity.
• Proficiency in English.
• Citizenship of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and eligibility to work in Jamaica without sponsorship.
• No family members up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity employed by the IDB Group.
