GIS Technician

About the role

Join Digicel’s Field Operations team as a GIS Technician, supporting customer installations, network expansion projects, and the ongoing development of fibre and telecommunications infrastructure across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide real‑time GIS support for customer installations and field technicians.
• Troubleshoot GIS‑related system issues and resolve network mapping discrepancies.
• Process customer order re‑raises and installation support requests.
• Perform address updates, network re‑associations, and infrastructure corrections.
• Coordinate and audit Fibre Access Terminal (FAT) activities and generate FAT port assignment reports.
• Develop and maintain accurate FTTx network maps, records, and documentation for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Configure and connect FATs, Fibre Distribution Terminals (FDTs) and TDD‑LTE network elements.
• Support Design Change Requests, network build releases and special projects ensuring GIS records reflect changes.
• Maintain data integrity across GIS platforms and validate connectivity records and schematics.
• Prepare daily operational reports and collaborate with internal teams to meet installation timelines.
