Houseman – Full‑time Facilities Support

About the role

The Houseman will work on‑site at 138 Student Living in Kingston, providing essential cleaning and basic maintenance support to ensure a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment for residents and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, corridors, stairways, and designated resident spaces.
• Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, waste collection and disposal.
• Set up rooms and assist with moving furniture or equipment as needed.
• Report maintenance issues and support minor upkeep tasks.
• Uphold health, safety and hygiene standards consistently.
• Collaborate with facilities and resident services teams.

Required profile

• Strong housekeeping and cleaning skills, with experience using cleaning tools and agents safely.
• Basic maintenance abilities for minor repairs and room setup.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work in a team and manage time effectively.
• Physical capacity to stand, walk, lift and carry items required for the role.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and high service standards.
• Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial or facilities roles is an asset.
• Availability for full‑time shifts, including weekends or evenings if required, and reliable attendance.
