Investigations & Employee Relations Officer

About the role

The Lead – Investigations & Employee Relations is a senior HR Generalist who acts as the company’s subject‑matter expert on employee relations, workplace investigations and labour relations. Partnering with business leaders, the role ensures compliance with Jamaican labour legislation and company policies while delivering fair and consistent HR solutions across the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex employee relations matters, including investigations, grievances, disciplinary actions and performance issues.
• Conduct impartial investigations: interview parties, gather evidence, prepare reports and recommend actions.
• Manage labour relations matters, prepare documentation for the Ministry of Labour and the Industrial Disputes Tribunal, and coordinate with legal counsel.
• Serve as primary HR advisor to assigned business units, guiding performance management, attendance, workforce planning and employee engagement.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, talent development and employee experience initiatives.
• Oversee compensation changes, promotions, transfers and separations while ensuring policy compliance.
• Maintain accurate, confidential HR documentation and case files.

Required profile

• Senior HR professional with extensive experience in employee relations and workplace investigations.
• Strong knowledge of Jamaican labour legislation and natural justice principles.
• Proven ability to coach managers, resolve conflicts and mitigate organisational risk.
• Excellent analytical, communication and documentation skills.
