Kitchen Staff Substitute

About the role

We are seeking a flexible Kitchen Staff Substitute to support our food service operations on an as‑needed basis. You will help maintain smooth kitchen service across multiple locations, ensuring food safety, quality, and timely service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily set‑up of serving lines and ensure food is held at required temperatures.
• Prepare menu items, baked goods, and batch‑cook meals according to Opaa! recipes.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas, including kitchen, cafeteria, and dishwashing stations.
• Manage inventory using FIFO procedures and keep cooler/storage racks tidy.
• Handle cash transactions and make change when required.
• Record production data, temperature logs, and comply with HACCP and CACFP regulations.
• Participate in safety programs, meetings, and required training.

Required profile

• Ability to perform essential kitchen functions on an as‑needed basis.
• Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and compliance with Opaa!’s policies.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to varying service demands.

Required skills

• Operation of slicers, mixers, and grinders.
• Food safety compliance (HACCP, CACFP).
• Temperature monitoring for hot and cold foods.
• Inventory management using FIFO principles.
• Cash handling and basic point‑of‑sale procedures.
