Lead EV & Hybrid Diagnostic Technician

About the role

The Lead EV & Hybrid Diagnostic Technician is responsible for performing advanced vehicle diagnostics, repairs, inspections and quality checks, while providing technical leadership to mechanics and apprentices in a service centre environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics using professional scan tools and testing equipment on mechanical, electrical, electronic, hybrid, EV and European vehicle systems.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to mechanics and apprentice technicians, ensuring repairs meet company quality standards.
• Conduct final quality inspections, road tests and verify fault correction before vehicle delivery.
• Maintain workshop safety, housekeeping and proper use of diagnostic equipment.

Required profile

• JAGAS Level III Motor Vehicle Repairs certification or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of automotive repair experience and 3 years in a senior or supervisory technical role.
• Proven expertise with professional diagnostic scan tools and extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic and computer‑controlled systems.
• Experience with hybrid and electric vehicles and European brands such as BMW, Mercedes‑Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Jaguar and Porsche.
