Senior Claims Negotiator

About the role

Gallagher Insurance Brokers is seeking a Senior Claims Negotiator to lead the management of complex insurance claims. The role involves coordinating with clients, insurers, adjusters and legal representatives to achieve optimal settlements while maintaining the firm’s high standards of service and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Process and oversee claims for assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and timely documentation.
• Review claim reports, verify supporting documentation, and communicate with claimants to obtain missing information.
• Provide clients with clear explanations of policy terms, claim procedures, and status updates.
• Coordinate assessors and adjusters, expedite reports, and negotiate settlements with insurers.
• Manage recovery efforts, negotiate with third parties, and maintain accurate recovery documentation.
• Prepare and deliver regular claims status reports and contribute data for monthly reporting.
• Support junior team members through guidance and supervision of claim correspondence.
• Conduct site visits for large losses and represent the firm in discussions with insurers.
• Uphold compliance and ethical standards throughout the claims process.

Required profile

• Proven experience in handling complex insurance claims and settlements.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities with clients, insurers, attorneys and adjusters.
• Detail‑oriented approach to documentation and reporting.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and work collaboratively across departments.
• Commitment to ethical standards and regulatory compliance.
