Billing Coordinator

About the role

Auctus Group provides revenue cycle support to its clients, helping providers practice with peace of mind. It is looking for a Billing Coordinator to handle accurate charge posting, payment posting, denial resolution and accounts receivable follow-up for services. The role is fully remote and is central to keeping accounts receivable healthy and ensuring timely reimbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Process and submit clean claims for professional and surgical services.
• Post payments and adjustments, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on unpaid, underpaid and denied claims.
• Work accounts receivable across all aging buckets with a focus on timely resolution.
• Review EOBs and payer responses to identify next actions.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation in the billing system and escalate complex issues to the Team Lead.
• Analyze billed services so claims meet coding, compliance and reimbursement requirements.
• Apply and review modifiers, identify CPT/NCCI issues and recommend claim corrections (coding knowledge required; coding from op notes not required).
• Comply with payer rules, client policies and internal workflows, and adhere strictly to HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support revenue cycle operations.

Required profile

• 2+ years of medical billing experience; professional and surgical experience strongly preferred.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment and values clear feedback and open communication.
• Detail-oriented, organized, accountable and able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Reliable computer and high-speed internet.
• Plastic surgery and/or dermatology billing is a plus.

Required skills

• CPT, ICD-10, modifiers and payer guidelines.
• Familiarity with global periods and surgical billing concepts.
• Experience with EHRs, PM systems and clearinghouses.
