Business Development Representative (Contract)

About the role

The Business Development Representative will deliver superior client experiences by assessing financial needs, providing advice, and proposing appropriate product and service solutions for both business and personal clients. The role focuses on cross‑selling, deepening relationships, and contributing to the bank’s strategic sales objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Own and address client issues at the first point of contact, escalating to the Sales Manager or Unit Head as needed.
• Build internal and external networks to generate business opportunities and referrals.
• Collaborate with Business Development Units, branches, and credit teams to achieve targets for payment solutions, loans, and deposits.
• Conduct presentations to groups or companies and make proactive sales calls to prospects.
• Utilise client discovery techniques to understand needs and propose suitable solutions.
• Complete applications with due diligence, adhering to bank policies and procedures.
• Leverage tools and resources to provide informed advice to clients.
• Represent the bank at sales events and follow up with clients post‑sale.
• Develop and maintain partner relationships to optimise business opportunities.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum three (3) years of proven experience in selling financial products and services.
• Experience in sales techniques and strong negotiating skills.
• Proficiency with computer software packages, including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) and training in credit and security is an asset.
• High degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective public speaking and teamwork abilities.
