Business Development Representative – Contract

About the role

Deliver superior client experience and meet sales targets by assisting business and personal clients with a full range of financial products. Assess client needs, propose appropriate solutions, and identify cross‑selling opportunities to build long‑term profitable relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact, own client issues and escalate to the Sales Manager or Unit Head when needed.
• Collaborate with Business Development Units, branches and credit teams to achieve the bank’s strategic sales plan for payment solutions, loans and deposits.
• Conduct proactive sales calls, presentations to groups or companies, and represent the bank at sales events.
• Utilize client discovery techniques to understand needs and recommend suitable products such as credit cards, POS/MPOS, loans and deposits.
• Ensure due diligence on applications, adhering to all bank policies, procedures and the Proceeds of Crime Act.
• Maintain and develop relationships with partners and external networks to generate referrals and business opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Minimum three years of proven experience selling financial products and services.
• Strong selling, negotiating and customer‑service abilities with a high degree of confidentiality.
• Knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) and familiarity with credit and security concepts is an asset.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and as an effective team player.
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
