Data Warehouse Manager

About the role

Guardsman Group is looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Manager to own the end‑to‑end data lifecycle—from collection and processing to storage and governance. You will design, build, and maintain a scalable enterprise data warehouse that supports rapid company growth and delivers reliable intelligence to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a cloud‑native or on‑premises enterprise data warehouse.
• Define and enforce data‑modeling standards (dimensional, Data Vault, hybrid) aligned with business needs.
• Lead ETL/ELT pipeline development, ensuring data quality, reliability and performance at scale.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies such as lakehouse architecture and real‑time streaming.
• Establish partitioning, indexing, and archival strategies to optimise query performance and storage costs.
• Mentor and manage a small team of IT practitioners and collaborate closely with the BI unit.
• Develop and enforce data‑governance policies, role‑based access controls and audit logging.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and oversee the data‑infrastructure budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, data warehousing or business intelligence.
• 1+ years of people‑management experience leading technical teams.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one modern data‑warehouse platform (Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
