Facilities Technician

About the role

The Facilities Technician provides dedicated onsite technical support for the inspection, monitoring and routine maintenance of critical facility equipment such as UPS systems, generators, HVAC systems and other building infrastructure. The role also handles general building maintenance, corrective works and responds promptly to facility‑related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily walkthroughs and inspections to identify maintenance needs, equipment abnormalities, safety concerns and building deficiencies.
• Report all maintenance incidents, equipment faults and deficiencies to Facilities leadership.
• Perform routine general maintenance and minor repairs, including painting, basic plumbing, electrical work and other building‑related tasks.
• Carry out routine checks of critical equipment (generators, UPS, HVAC, pumps) and report abnormal conditions.
• Support preventive maintenance schedules for critical plant and landlord‑owned equipment.
• Assist in coordinating scheduled maintenance activities and ensure proper documentation.
• Provide onsite support to vendors and contractors, monitor their activities and report status.
• Inspect fire and life‑safety equipment, maintain accurate logs and service reports.
• Respond to facility incidents, assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Help with furniture, equipment and asset movement, installation and workspace setup.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UPS systems, generators and HVAC equipment.
• Experience with basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Ability to perform painting and minor carpentry tasks.
• Familiarity with fire extinguishers and fire detection system inspections.
• Competence in conducting preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
