Finance Officer – UNICEF Caribbean MCO

About the role

The Finance Officer supports finance activities across UNICEF's Caribbean Multi‑Country Office, ensuring sound financial management, compliance with UNICEF policies and IPSAS standards, and timely, client‑oriented finance services for twelve programme countries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical finance and accounting support, including financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, treasury operations and donor reporting.
• Supervise a Finance Associate, ensuring timely completion of finance support tasks and adherence to procedures.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls, identify financial risks, and contribute to fraud prevention and detection.
• Support process‑improvement initiatives and implementation of new financial systems and digital tools.
• Collaborate with the Deputy Representative (Operations), Programme Budget Officer and Risk & Compliance Officer to integrate finance, budgeting, risk management and internal control functions.

Required profile

• University degree in accounting, financial management or a related field (or equivalent CIPFA diploma).
• Relevant work experience in finance, accounting or financial management, preferably in an international or development context.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multi‑country, multi‑disciplinary environment and supervise junior staff.
