Human Resource Business Partner – Retail

About the role

Sutherland is seeking a Senior Human Resource Business Partner to lead HR strategy and execution for its retail operations in Jamaica. The role focuses on employee engagement, performance optimization, and compliance with local labour laws.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to design and deliver people strategies aligned with business goals and client KPIs.
• Lead engagement, satisfaction and retention initiatives to build a high‑performance culture.
• Oversee complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with Jamaican labour law and company policy.
• Analyze workforce data to design evidence‑based retention interventions.
• Ensure consistent execution of core HR processes, policy governance and compliance across accounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, HR Management, Organizational Development or related field.
• Minimum 3‑4 years experience in a senior HR leadership role within the BPO industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness to work a shifting schedule.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Jamaican labour standards and statutory benefits.
• Experience with employee engagement practices and performance management.
