Internal Audit Manager

About the role

The Internal Audit Manager will provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services to strengthen the Company’s governance, risk management, and internal control environment. Reporting functionally to the Chairman of the Audit Committee and administratively to the CEO, the role leads the internal audit function in line with the audit charter and risk‑based plan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain risk‑based strategic and annual internal audit plans for Audit Committee approval.
• Plan and execute internal audits across the Company’s operations, assessing governance, risk management, internal controls and key business processes.
• Report audit findings to senior management and the Audit Committee, escalating significant control weaknesses, suspected fraud or material compliance breaches.
• Recommend practical improvements to controls, policies, procedures and risk management, and monitor implementation of audit recommendations.
• Liaise with external auditors on internal control compliance matters and support interim and year‑end audit activities.
• Support investigations, special reviews, due diligence and advisory assignments while maintaining independence.
• Lead, coach and develop the Internal Audit team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline and ACCA/CPA certification.
• Minimum ten years post‑qualification experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management or related assurance function, with at least seven years in a supervisory or management role.
• Demonstrated experience leading risk‑based audits and presenting results to senior management, boards or audit committees.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management practices, accounting standards and audit methodologies.
• Professional qualifications such as CIA, CISA, CRMA, MBA are advantageous; experience in shipping, logistics, port or related industry is a plus.
