Maintenance Assistant – Level 2

About the role

The National Land Agency is seeking a Maintenance Assistant – Level 2 to support the upkeep of its buildings, furniture, and equipment. Reporting to the Administrator/Office Manager, the incumbent will perform routine inspections, minor repairs, and assist with furniture movement and emergency preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect property and report findings.
• Carry out minor maintenance and repair activities, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
• Assist with the movement, labeling, and distribution of furniture, equipment, stationery, and cleaning supplies.
• Maintain bathroom dispensers, monitor generator fuel levels, and participate in stock‑taking exercises.
• Collect and distribute daily newspapers and manage ice‑filled igloos for employee use.
• Support disaster preparedness and emergency operations as required.

Required profile

• Secondary School (Leaving) Certificate.
• HEART Trust/NTA Level 1 certification in plumbing, electrical installation, carpentry, or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Good interpersonal skills and knowledge of safety procedures.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of plumbing, electrical installation, and carpentry.
• Competence in using tools and machines for minor repairs.
