Master Technician – Crane Maintenance

About the role

The Crane Master Technician will be the principal technical authority for the maintenance, repair and diagnostic integrity of Kingston Wharves Limited’s heavy‑duty crane fleet (Liebherr, Gottwald, Konecranes). The role ensures maximum asset reliability and supports the company’s operational expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance programmes for all cranes, minimizing downtime.
• Use the CMMS (Limble, GP/Key2Act‑WennSoft) to issue, monitor and close work orders and track equipment performance.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, conduct stock‑taking and ensure critical items are available.
• Analyse maintenance metrics and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
• Source technical services, evaluate OEM quotations and follow up on orders and deliveries.
• Collaborate with Planning, Stores, Operations, Logistics, Finance and other engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Coach, mentor and assess crane maintenance personnel, identifying training needs.
• Promote compliance with occupational safety, company policies and workshop standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 5‑7 years of heavy‑duty port equipment maintenance experience, preferably with cranes.
• Supervisory or managerial exposure in a similar environment.
• OEM‑certified training on mobile harbour cranes (Liebherr LHM series, Konecranes/Gottwald) is highly preferred.
• Physical ability to work at heights, climb ladders and operate in tropical maritime conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and on‑call rotations.

Required skills

• Interpretation of complex hydraulic schematics.
• Reading electrical single‑line drawings and automated control loop diagrams.
• Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Limble, GP/Key2Act‑WennSoft).
