About the role

The Sports Photographer will lead the visual storytelling for the Templar Yearbook, ensuring high‑quality, creative photographic content across the sports section. This senior‑level position works closely with editorial leadership to build and manage a team of freelance photographers and photo editors.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage all photographic content for the yearbook, maintaining creative standards.
• Collaborate with the Editor‑in‑Chief and Managing Editor to recruit photo editors and freelance photographers.
• Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of freelance photographers and photo editors.
• Coordinate with the Sports Team to delegate and track photo assignments.
• Ensure final images align with established themes and quality benchmarks.
• Manage timelines and deliverables to sync with the yearbook production schedule.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of digital photography and photo‑editing software.
• Proven leadership and communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with capacity to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
