Legal and Data Protection Officer

About the role

PAC Kingston Airport Limited is looking for a qualified Legal and Data Protection Officer to provide legal counsel and ensure compliance with data protection, civil aviation and other statutory requirements. The role combines commercial law expertise with practical data‑privacy management in a dynamic airport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and vet a range of legal documents, including space licences, leases and airline agreements.
• Assist the organisation in developing and implementing data‑protection standards, policies and procedures.
• Consult with the Office of the Information Commissioner to resolve issues related to the Data Protection Act.
• Serve as the primary contact for the Information Commissioner on all matters concerning personal data processing.
• Manage data subject access requests promptly and professionally.
• Provide legal advice on claims, regulations and defend the entity’s legal position, including attending courts and filing documents.

Required profile

• LLB and CLE qualifications; admitted to practice law in Jamaica.
• Minimum 1‑3 years post‑qualification experience in commercial law, litigation and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to handle data‑protection compliance and interact with regulatory bodies.
