Business Development Representative (Contract)

About the role

Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative on a contract basis to drive sales of financial products and services. You will work directly with business and personal clients, delivering superior experiences while meeting sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client financial needs and propose appropriate product or service solutions.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities to deepen client relationships.
• Own first‑point‑of‑contact client issues and escalate when necessary.
• Build internal and external networks to generate referrals and business opportunities.
• Collaborate with BDU, branch, and credit teams to achieve the bank’s strategic sales goals for payment solutions, loans, and deposits.
• Conduct presentations to groups or companies and make proactive sales calls.
• Utilise client discovery techniques and due‑diligence processes in line with bank policies.
• Represent the bank at sales events, follow up with clients post‑sale, and maintain partner relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum three years of proven experience selling financial products and services.
• Experience with sales techniques and strong negotiation and customer service abilities.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and act independently.
• Effective public speaking and teamwork skills.
