Production Manager

About the role

The Production Manager is responsible for the overall performance of manufacturing operations in St. Thomas, Jamaica, covering personal care, aromatherapy and home improvement product lines. The role ensures products are produced safely, efficiently, on schedule and to specification while leading a team of three Team Leads.

Key responsibilities

• Set and adjust daily, weekly and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, material availability and capacity.
• Direct daily production through Team Leads, monitor output, resolve bottlenecks and drive labour productivity, line balancing and idle‑time reduction.
• Lead, coach and hold Team Leads accountable, conduct performance reviews and support hiring, promotion and disciplinary actions.
• Own quality performance, enforce safety procedures, investigate defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor material consumption, manage equipment downtime coordination and provide accurate reporting on output, efficiency, waste and first‑pass yield.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Production/Operations Management, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing multiple lines or product categories.
• Proven experience with production planning, scheduling, manufacturing KPIs and ERP or production management systems.
• Preferred background in FMCG, personal care, chemical or consumer products manufacturing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Experience using production management software.
