Communications Associate

About the role

The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica is seeking a Communications Associate to strengthen its public visibility and support an always‑on communications function. The role is ideal for an emerging communications professional who can write quickly, respond to real‑time content needs, and help the organisation stay engaged in national conversations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft press releases, speeches, newsletters, communication briefs, website updates and social‑media captions.
• Schedule, curate and publish approved content across PSOJ’s social‑media platforms to drive engagement.
• Monitor traditional, digital and social media to spot emerging trends and coverage opportunities for the private sector.
• Provide timely responses to media, member and stakeholder inquiries.
• Assist in planning and executing communications activities for events, advocacy initiatives, forums, launches and media engagements.
• Offer on‑site communications support at high‑profile events, including capturing photo and video content.
• Develop real‑time and post‑event content such as stories, visuals and messages.

Required profile

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise content under tight deadlines.
• Experience or interest in event coverage and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast‑moving team.
• Attention to detail and a proactive, agile mindset.
