Customs Agent – International Trade Specialist

About the role

As a Customs Agent with DHL Express, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating smooth international trade. You will ensure that all import, export and transshipment shipments comply with customs regulations and DHL standards, supporting the efficient movement of goods worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit all required customs documentation for timely clearance of inbound and outbound consignments.
• Enter shipment data into relevant platforms such as Islander and maintain accurate electronic and manual records.
• Liaise with customs officials, government agencies, DHL departments and customers to resolve clearance issues.
• Monitor changes in customs laws and regulations to maintain compliance and influence procedural improvements.
• Generate reports on duties, tariffs, fees and taxes for cost management.
• Maintain daily logs of cleared shipments, brokerage activities and any clearance delays.
• Assist customers with document requirements, inquiries and complaints.
