ICT Practitioner / IT Technician (Spanish Town)

About the role

The ICT Practitioner / IT Technician is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Spanish Town, Jamaica. The role involves diagnosing and repairing computers and mobile devices, performing hardware and software installations, upgrades and maintenance, and delivering high‑quality technical support to small businesses and home users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide desk‑side assistance, troubleshoot network connectivity and configure systems for clients.
• Diagnose and repair computer hardware, mobile devices, and perform software installations and upgrades.
• Document all service work performed and maintain accurate records.
• Interact directly with customers, explaining technical issues and solutions in clear language.
• Participate in ongoing training, follow company procedures and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Required profile

• Strong skills in computer hardware troubleshooting, system upgrades and basic mobile device repair.
• Experience with operating system installation and configuration (Windows, macOS) and routine software maintenance.
• Basic networking knowledge, including router and switch configuration, Wi‑Fi setup and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Problem‑solving, time‑management and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are advantageous.
• High school diploma required; a diploma or degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
