Lecturer – Applied Science (Chemistry & Physics)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer to deliver BTEC Applied Science Level 2 & 3 programmes, specialising in Chemistry and Physics, at Kingston College. You will work closely with the Head of Section and course teams to ensure students achieve and exceed their target grades while enjoying a high‑quality learning experience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver teaching schemes for BTEC Applied Science courses.
• Develop and manage assessment schedules, including coursework and externally set assessments.
• Monitor student progress and intervene to support achievement of target grades.
• Collaborate with the Head of Section, Team Leader and fellow lecturers to maintain academic standards.
• Incorporate new technologies and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.

Required profile

• Degree or relevant professional qualification in a science discipline.
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Proven experience delivering BTEC vocational programmes.
• Recent participation in continuous professional development and awareness of academic quality standards.
• Energy, enthusiasm and a passion for education, with the ability to motivate and empathise with learners.
