Marine Painter & Blaster – Shipyard

About the role

Join the technical team at Jamaica's first ship repair yard, operating a floating dock in Harbour View, Kingston. As a Marine Painter & Blaster you will be responsible for preparing and protecting vessel surfaces and shipyard structures with high‑quality coatings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare steel surfaces using abrasive blasting, power tools and approved methods.
• Apply marine coatings and paint systems according to technical specifications and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Inspect prepared surfaces and completed coating work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain blasting and painting equipment and adhere to health, safety and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in abrasive blasting and industrial or marine painting.
• Knowledge of surface preparation methods, coating systems and safe handling of painting materials.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces and industrial environments.
• Shipyard experience is an advantage.
