Operations Manager – Ship Chandlery & Marine Supply

About the role

You will ensure vessels receive all required provisions, stores, and spares before departure, while managing the Kingston branch warehouse, local purchasing, and quotation desk. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will have full ownership of the supply operation.

Key responsibilities

• Fulfil vessel requisitions within tight and unpredictable port windows.
• Raise purchase orders, obtain competing quotes, negotiate price and lead‑time.
• Oversee warehouse activities: receiving, inspection, stock records, bin locations, reorder levels, cycle counts and stocktakes.
• Prepare costed quotations and follow them through to decision.
• Develop and service inland customers across marine, industrial, hospitality and logistics sectors.
• Report weekly and monthly on stock, spend, supplier performance and margin.

Required profile

• Experience in ship chandling, marine/offshore supply, freight forwarding or industrial purchasing and stores.
• Familiarity with Jamaican import and clearance practices (Jamaica Customs, ASYCUDA World, wharf procedures, bonded stores).
• Strong costing and quotation skills, including landed cost, duty and GCT calculations.
• Excellent Excel proficiency and comfort with inventory or ERP systems.
• Highly organised and a valid Jamaican driver’s licence.
