Programme Management Officer – Marine Environment

About the role

The International Seabed Authority (ISA) is seeking a Programme Management Officer to support its Office of Stewardship, Environment and Resources (OSER). The role focuses on marine environmental protection and the sustainable management of activities in the Area beyond national jurisdiction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and policy inputs to the development, implementation, and strategic planning of ISA activities related to marine environmental protection.
• Coordinate and organise expert workshops, stakeholder consultations, and other technical activities supporting regional environmental management plans, environmental thresholds, and other management measures.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement scientific projects addressing priority knowledge needs for effective environmental management.
• Engage with relevant regional and global instruments, frameworks, and policy processes to advance ISA’s environmental mandate.
• Facilitate scientific and stakeholder engagement activities and support the science‑policy interface.

Required profile

• Technical and policy expertise in marine environmental protection and management.
• Experience coordinating workshops, stakeholder consultations, and technical activities.
• Ability to develop and manage scientific projects in collaboration with partners and institutions.
• Familiarity with regional and global environmental frameworks and policy processes.
