Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical (HVAC)

About the role

Airswift is looking for a Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical (HVAC) to lead end‑to‑end engineering delivery for building services projects in Kingston, Jamaica. You will own the technical authority for HVAC system design, coordination and execution from estimation through final handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical (HVAC) engineering across the full project lifecycle, ensuring designs are compliant, buildable and cost‑efficient.
• Provide estimating support during tender stages, reviewing drawings, specifications and scope to validate pricing assumptions.
• Prepare and review HVAC layouts, calculations, system selections and mechanical shop drawings.
• Develop complete technical submittal packages for consultant/client approval and support procurement teams post‑approval.
• Create detailed Bills of Materials based on shop drawings, ensuring accuracy and procurement readiness.
• Conduct engineering quality control oversight during construction, resolve technical issues and non‑conformances.
• Review and validate as‑built drawings and final documentation to support smooth project close‑out and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in HVAC / building mechanical systems and full project delivery from conception to handover.
