Shelter Program Manager

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a dedicated Shelter Program Manager to lead humanitarian shelter operations in Jamaica. The role blends project management, construction oversight, and faith‑based leadership to deliver safe, dignified shelter solutions for disaster‑affected communities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee shelter projects within budget and schedule, ensuring all goals are met.
• Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate program staff.
• Ensure compliance with Samaritan's Purse policies, standards, and regulations.
• Manage program budgets, produce timely financial reports, and submit professional program documentation.
• Coordinate with government authorities, humanitarian partners, community representatives, contractors, and internal departments.
• Conduct regular field visits to support staff, resolve challenges, and explore future program opportunities.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Active U.S. visa or ability to enter the U.S. visa‑free.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least two years of relevant experience; engineering degree preferred.
• Experience in international construction management and disaster response.
• 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies (or willingness to complete after hire).
• Fluency in English.
