Captain – Tug Operations in Kingston

About the role

Ocean Group is seeking an experienced Captain to lead tug operations at the Port of Kingston, Jamaica. You will be responsible for safe towing manoeuvres, crew management, and vessel maintenance while upholding the company’s safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate tug vessels in accordance with company policies and industry best practices.
• Manage and mentor the crew, promoting health and safety initiatives.
• Oversee the implementation of the vessel maintenance program.
• Ensure proper handling and management of all equipment under your charge.
• Participate in the company’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

Required profile

• Master 500 Gross Tonnage, Domestic certificate (minimum requirement).
• Valid medical certificate and Marine Advanced First Aid certification.
• 3‑5 years of experience as a Tug Captain, preferably on Z‑Drive vessels.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Experience working in the Port of Kingston is an asset.
