Consumer Bearer - Device Collection

About the role

Digicel is hiring a Consumer Bearer in Kingston for its device collection and asset recovery programme. This field-based role collects customer-premises equipment (CPE) from residential homes and acts as the main point of contact during device recovery, ensuring a professional and efficient experience. The bearer also delivers recovered equipment securely to the designated warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Confirm the daily collection schedule assigned by dispatch each morning and contact each customer by phone or approved channel to agree appointment times and readiness.
• Explain the purpose of the visit, the devices to be collected and any preparation needed (e.g. unplugging devices).
• Reschedule or escalate appointments when customers are unavailable, uncontactable or unwilling to proceed, following company procedures.
• Record all contact attempts, confirmations and schedule changes in the field management system or job tracking tool, and notify the supervisor of conflicts or cancellations.
• Collect assigned devices such as modems, set-top boxes, Wi-Fi extenders, remote controls and power adapters, together with their accessories, and handle them carefully.
• Store collected equipment safely in the company vehicle and obtain a proof of collection (customer signature or digital acknowledgement) for each job.
• Transport all collected devices to the warehouse or collection point by the daily cut-off time.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's licence (mandatory).
• Prior experience in field collections, courier or customer-facing roles is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and good organisational skills to manage several jobs at once.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
• Honesty, integrity and accountability when handling company and customer property.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy for mobile field apps, job sheets and communication tools.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunication equipment is an advantage.
