Country Buyer – Furniture Category

About the role

Lead the execution of furniture category strategies in the country, translating corporate direction into locally relevant assortments, pricing, promotions and supplier plans. Drive growth, profitability and product availability through commercial management and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt corporate category strategies to local market needs, define SKU mix, pricing ladders and promotional plans within guidelines.
• Manage SKU selection, optimise assortments, align with demand forecasts and inventory requirements, and monitor sales, margin, inventory productivity and forecast performance.
• Manage relationships with approved local suppliers, support negotiations, ensure compliance with quality and sourcing standards, and contribute to supplier performance evaluation.
• Implement corporate pricing strategies adapted to local dynamics, execute promotional plans with Commercial and Marketing teams, monitor effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
• Coordinate with Planning, Logistics, Store Operations, Marketing and Omnichannel teams to ensure consistent category execution across channels and improve sales, inventory and operational performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
• 5‑7+ years progressive experience in buying, merchandising, category management or retail operations within a medium to large organization.
• Proven experience in assortment execution, SKU management, pricing, promotions, purchase‑order management and replenishment planning.
• Experience monitoring sales, margin, inventory productivity, forecast performance and other category‑performance indicators.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and supporting commercial negotiations.
• Experience collaborating with corporate or regional teams while responding to local market requirements.
• Experience in furniture, appliances, consumer durables or a related retail category is a plus.
• Proficiency with ERP, merchandising and data‑analysis tools; experience with Blue Yonder or a similar platform is an asset.
