Final Accounts Officer – Level 4

About the role

The Final Accounts Officer supports the Supervisor of Final Accounts & Reporting by maintaining accurate accounting records in line with GAAP and the FAA Act. This Level 4 position ensures the Agency’s cash management and financial reporting are reliable and timely.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the Agency’s bank accounts electronically and provide daily/weekly balance updates.
• Maintain the electronic cash book and the warrants receivable account.
• Reconcile all bank accounts (excluding Property Accounts Unit) and prepare related statements.
• Liaise with banks to correct any account errors.
• File banking records such as lodgment slips.
• Prepare monthly journals with supporting documentation for expenditure credits and advance receivables.
• Assist with the fixed‑assets register using Sage Accpac.
• Support monthly reconciliation of general‑ledger accounts.

Required profile

• AAT Level 2 or CAT Level B, OR a Diploma in Accounting, OR Government Accounting Level 2.
• At least two (2) years of experience in bank reconciliation.
